Hack Job
Even though I don't usually post long stories, you just have to hear this one. It is long, be prepared. So, the truth about the haircut is this....they did a total hack job. Here is the story for those of you who are dying to hear it....the first lady who cut Hunter's hair spent a total of about 3 1/2 minutes cutting it. These were the pictures of him sitting in the airplane (previous post pictures). I told her that I really just wanted it cleaned up over his ears and in the front and she could even up the back but I didn't want a lot of length taken off. So, she finishes, very quickly as I mentioned before, and we leave. I decided to feed Hunter in the car in the parking lot and while I was feeding him I looked at his hair and realized there were these long pieces hanging down on one side in the back. When I say long I mean they were probably an inch longer than the rest of his hair. So, on the principal that we paid $17 for a 3 1/2 minute haircut we went back in to have it fixed. Little did we know, that would be a huge mistake. The lady who cut his hair the first time was already gone for the day (she promptly left as soon as we did...I wonder if she was in a hurry because she wanted to go home?)!! So, we told them that we found some long pieces in the back we needed fixed. While we were waiting for the stylist to free up I really started looking closely at Hunter's hair and realized it was just terrible all around. The back had been cut significantly and was totally uneven from one side to the other. Over his ear on one side it was squared off and he had a long sideburn type thing and on the other side it was rounded over his ear with no sideburn. It was just ridiculous. So, when it was our turn I started showing the lady all of the things that needed to be fixed. Our second round was with Hunter in the regular chair with the all blue cape on (previous post pictures). She did a decent job fixing the hair over his ears but when she got to the back it was just bad. I guess in order to even it up she had to cut it a LOT shorter so that is what she did. After she finished with the scissors she went for the shears and said she wanted to fix the back. At that point I picked Hunter up and told her that we were fine and it was short enough. We promptly walked out the door. Believe it or not, that wasn't the worst part. The second lady had been cutting a little boy's black hair before Hunter sat down. Well, not only did she not shake off the cape so Hunter had black hair all over his clothes but she didn't clean her comb or scissors so he had black hair ALL in his very blonde hair. I was DISGUSTED. Needless to say, not the best experience we have had but I guess makes for a good blog post! You'll see in the pics that the front isn't too bad but the back is just silly. Looks like some kind of terrible bowl cut according to Brian.
