Doctor's Update - September 9th
Today was the day that Dr. Pohl decided he is ready to induce! My appointment went well and the baby looks "beautiful" according to Dr. Pohl (after looking at the fetal monitor papers). I was measuring 39 weeks which had decreased significantly from last week although Dr. Pohl said he was not surprised. He said as the babies drop lower into the pelvis this is normal. I was still around 3 to 4 cm dialated and 75% effaced so there had not been any progression. He said this was also fine because I was still very advanced to not even be 38 weeks. Dr. Pohl decided he wants to induce this Monday, September 15th. I will be 38 1/2 weeks and he said that gives the baby just a little more time to grow and mature but also puts me in labor before he gets too much bigger and we have other risks involved. So, it looks like Monday we will be Hunter's big arrival day! We are SO excited!

37 Weeks - September 5th!
We didn't actually take any pictures on the 5th but these are from the 6th. Me, Mama and Jamie decided to use the rest of my Chateau Elan gift certificate and go get pedicures together one last time before Hunter arrives. The other picture is just one of me on the couch that Brian took....in all my glory!

Doctor's Update - September 2nd
This week marked the first of my exams preparing for the big day. When Dr. Pohl checked me I was already 3 to 4 cm dialated and 75% effaced. Dr. Pohl, me and Brian were all SHOCKED! Dr. Pohl said that is very advanced, especially for a first time mom and considering I was not even 37 weeks. He said that hopefully Hunter will come on his own and we will not have to induce although I could easily walk around like this for several weeks. I guess I was so surprised I had a look of concern because Dr. Pohl told me I looked terrified. I believe I was just in shock! He said he will not let me go past 38 1/2 weeks because of Hunter's size. My belly was measuring 43 weeks.
When we were checking out the nurse in the room with us asked what we thought about our news. We said that we were just very surprised to which she replied "you should have seen your faces!"

Doctor's Update - August 25th
We have moved on to weekly visits with Dr. Pohl. At our visit on August 25th the baby was perfectly fine and his heartbeat was strong. However, Dr. Pohl had suspicions that I might develop preclampsia. He said we will know more next week and there isn't anything I can do about it. My belly was measuring 42 weeks even though I am only 35 weeks!! That was a HUGE increase!

Doctor's Update - August 20th
We had our second growth scan on August 20th. They were estimating that Hunter weighs around 6 lbs 12 ounces. Everyone in the office was talking about our "big baby" before we could leave. I told Brian it isn't a good sign when even the nurses are surprised! My belly was measuring 36 weeks and I am almost 35 weeks so that has evened out again. Dr. Pohl wasn't too happy with my blood pressure so he put me on a very low dose of blood pressure medicine and I have to start coming to the office twice a week for non-stress tests on the baby.

Finishing the Nursery - August 9th & 10th
The weekend of August 9th and 10th we spent all day Saturday and all day Sunday working on the nursery and trying to get it done. My parents came over and helped several times because I had a hard time deciding where I wanted the furniture to go so Dad and Brian kept having to move it around. My mom also helped with some of the decorating because she would get mad every time I even thought about getting on the ladder!

4D Ultrasound Pictures - August 6th
Here are some of the still shots of the 4D. After our ultrasound we saw Dr. Pohl for our regular visit. What was amazing is the during the ultrasound Hunter was transverse or sideways in my belly. Between the ultrasound and when we saw Dr. Pohl (while we were in the waiting room) Hunter turned head down! We were excited to find out that news and Dr. Pohl was pleased that he was head down. Maybe the caffeine I had on the way to the ultrasound to try to get better pictures helped because in the waiting room Hunter was going crazy. I have had very little caffeine the whole pregnancy so he really reacted to it! My belly was measuring 36 weeks although I was not quite 33 weeks yet. My blood pressure was fine and Hunter's heartbeat sounded great according to Dr. Pohl. He said he still plans to induce between 37 and 39 weeks.

4D Ultrasound - August 6th
Here is the video from our 4D Ultrasound, it's pretty long and she switches back and forth from 2D to 4D a lot. Hunter had his hand in front of his face the whole time and she was trying to get better shots of him!

Working on the Nursery - August 2nd
I guess these aren't technically pictures of us working on the nursery but we were working on organizing and storing all of the "stuff" that we had received for Hunter. It was a daunting task that took many weekends but we are so grateful to have wonderful friends and family who have given us all of the things we need to welcome a new baby!
