Doctor's Update - September 9th
Today was the day that Dr. Pohl decided he is ready to induce! My appointment went well and the baby looks "beautiful" according to Dr. Pohl (after looking at the fetal monitor papers). I was measuring 39 weeks which had decreased significantly from last week although Dr. Pohl said he was not surprised. He said as the babies drop lower into the pelvis this is normal. I was still around 3 to 4 cm dialated and 75% effaced so there had not been any progression. He said this was also fine because I was still very advanced to not even be 38 weeks. Dr. Pohl decided he wants to induce this Monday, September 15th. I will be 38 1/2 weeks and he said that gives the baby just a little more time to grow and mature but also puts me in labor before he gets too much bigger and we have other risks involved. So, it looks like Monday we will be Hunter's big arrival day! We are SO excited!

37 Weeks - September 5th!
We didn't actually take any pictures on the 5th but these are from the 6th. Me, Mama and Jamie decided to use the rest of my Chateau Elan gift certificate and go get pedicures together one last time before Hunter arrives. The other picture is just one of me on the couch that Brian took....in all my glory!

Doctor's Update - September 2nd
This week marked the first of my exams preparing for the big day. When Dr. Pohl checked me I was already 3 to 4 cm dialated and 75% effaced. Dr. Pohl, me and Brian were all SHOCKED! Dr. Pohl said that is very advanced, especially for a first time mom and considering I was not even 37 weeks. He said that hopefully Hunter will come on his own and we will not have to induce although I could easily walk around like this for several weeks. I guess I was so surprised I had a look of concern because Dr. Pohl told me I looked terrified. I believe I was just in shock! He said he will not let me go past 38 1/2 weeks because of Hunter's size. My belly was measuring 43 weeks.
When we were checking out the nurse in the room with us asked what we thought about our news. We said that we were just very surprised to which she replied "you should have seen your faces!"

Doctor's Update - August 25th
We have moved on to weekly visits with Dr. Pohl. At our visit on August 25th the baby was perfectly fine and his heartbeat was strong. However, Dr. Pohl had suspicions that I might develop preclampsia. He said we will know more next week and there isn't anything I can do about it. My belly was measuring 42 weeks even though I am only 35 weeks!! That was a HUGE increase!

Doctor's Update - August 20th
We had our second growth scan on August 20th. They were estimating that Hunter weighs around 6 lbs 12 ounces. Everyone in the office was talking about our "big baby" before we could leave. I told Brian it isn't a good sign when even the nurses are surprised! My belly was measuring 36 weeks and I am almost 35 weeks so that has evened out again. Dr. Pohl wasn't too happy with my blood pressure so he put me on a very low dose of blood pressure medicine and I have to start coming to the office twice a week for non-stress tests on the baby.

Finishing the Nursery - August 9th & 10th
The weekend of August 9th and 10th we spent all day Saturday and all day Sunday working on the nursery and trying to get it done. My parents came over and helped several times because I had a hard time deciding where I wanted the furniture to go so Dad and Brian kept having to move it around. My mom also helped with some of the decorating because she would get mad every time I even thought about getting on the ladder!

4D Ultrasound Pictures - August 6th
Here are some of the still shots of the 4D. After our ultrasound we saw Dr. Pohl for our regular visit. What was amazing is the during the ultrasound Hunter was transverse or sideways in my belly. Between the ultrasound and when we saw Dr. Pohl (while we were in the waiting room) Hunter turned head down! We were excited to find out that news and Dr. Pohl was pleased that he was head down. Maybe the caffeine I had on the way to the ultrasound to try to get better pictures helped because in the waiting room Hunter was going crazy. I have had very little caffeine the whole pregnancy so he really reacted to it! My belly was measuring 36 weeks although I was not quite 33 weeks yet. My blood pressure was fine and Hunter's heartbeat sounded great according to Dr. Pohl. He said he still plans to induce between 37 and 39 weeks.

4D Ultrasound - August 6th
Here is the video from our 4D Ultrasound, it's pretty long and she switches back and forth from 2D to 4D a lot. Hunter had his hand in front of his face the whole time and she was trying to get better shots of him!

Working on the Nursery - August 2nd
I guess these aren't technically pictures of us working on the nursery but we were working on organizing and storing all of the "stuff" that we had received for Hunter. It was a daunting task that took many weekends but we are so grateful to have wonderful friends and family who have given us all of the things we need to welcome a new baby!

31 Weeks - July 25th!

Growth Scan - July 23rd
We had our growth scan on July 23rd. I was just shy of 31 weeks and they were estimating that Hunter is about 2 weeks ahead and weighing 4 lbs, 4 ounces. This would be the 72nd percentile. When Dr. Pohl took my belly measurement it was at 35. He decided we will do another growth scan in 3 to 4 weeks and said he plans to induce between 37 and 38 1/2 weeks.

Doctor's Update - July 17th
We saw Dr. Pohl on July 17th. The baby's heartbeat was great and my measurement was starting to even out. I was almost 30 weeks and still measuring 32 weeks. Even though it seemed that things were starting to even out Dr. Pohl still wanted to schedule a growth scan (ultrasound) to see how big the baby actually is. We scheduled the growth scan for July 23rd.

Jackson, Reece & Scott Baby Shower
Jackson, Reece & Scott threw me a baby shower on July 10th at Chrissie's house. I included all of the pictures but this is just a warning that there are a LOT of me just opening gifts so they can get pretty repetitive!

Doctor's Updates - June 16th and June 23rd
I went to see Dr. Pohl on June 16th and June 23rd for blood pressure checks. Both times he just looked at my readings that I had been doing at home and said we were going to continue to wait and monitor before taking any action. Me and Brian went in on July 1st for a regular appointment. I was almost 28 weeks but measuring 32 weeks so still measuring ahead. Everything else looked good so Dr. Pohl just said we will continue to monitor and see what happens.

24 Weeks (or 6 months to normal people!)
June 6th marked 24 weeks so Brian took some pictures of my belly. We had our last doctors appointment on June 4th a couple of days earlier. Hunter's heartbeat was very strong and Dr. Pohl was happy with that. But, I am only 24 weeks and was measuring 28 weeks plus my blood pressure is up. So, we go back to the doctor on June 16th to have my blood pressure checked again and see what Dr. Pohl says. I've decided this most likely means I'll be having the baby more towards the beginning of September than the end of September because I know Dr. Pohl doesn't mess around with blood pressure and will likely induce if it stays high.

Go Braves!
May 24th - Lisa surprised me for my birthday and took the whole family (except our OKC fam ;) to the Braves game! What a great day and a great game!!
Happy Mother's Day!
Brian sent me beautiful tulips on the Friday before Mother's Day. The card was so sweet and said they were from Daddy and Hunter! Unfortunately, I left them at work over the weekend forgetting that the air goes off in our building and by the time I returned on Monday they were mostly dead :( I did manage to get a couple of pictures but they look so sad because these pictures weren't taken until Monday after the flowers had a bad weekend.

20 Week Ultrasound
This is the video from our 20 week ultrasound on May 7th. I am actually just shy of 20 weeks - 19 weeks and 5 days. During the ultrasound they looked at the vital organs, measured a bunch of stuff and then showed us the fun stuff. When you get to the part where there is a chart on the screen if you wait about 30 seconds the ultrasound will come back on and then you get to see the It's a Boy part!! Just before that the video starts jumping - that was Wendy pressing up and down on my belly trying to get Hunter to flip over so that he was facing my belly. We cut the end of the ultrasound off because Hunter decided to be stubborn and not flip over and continued facing my back. You get a good shot of his spine for about 5 minutes but that is all you are missing! Dr. Pohl said everything looked great and he also listened to the heartbeat and said it was perfect! Hunter weighs 12 ounces today which they said is right on track.

Tummy Check #2
April 22nd - We went to the doctor today for tummy check #2. We were able to hear the heartbeat again and it was just as exciting as the first time. It was about 150 beats per minute which Dr. Pohl said was perfect and he also commented that it was getting louder which means the baby is getting bigger. We go back on May 7th for our 20 week ultrasound and to hopefully find out the sex of the baby. Look for an updated post then!!!

Tummy Check #1
March 20th - We went to the doctor today for our first "tummy check" as Dr. Pohl calls it. Although we had previously been able to see the baby's heartbeat on the ultrasounds we had not heard the heartbeat yet but we did today!! It was so amazing and fast. We didn't get to hear it for very long but Dr. Pohl heard what he needed to hear and said it sounded perfect. Both me and Brian were so excited to finally hear the baby!

Baby Aerobics
We went to the doctor on March 4th for our second visit and second ultrasound. Dr. Pohl told us if we brought a VHS tape that he would record the ultrasound so this is our amazing video (I guess we are biased). It was SO amazing to see the baby moving around so much. The actual video is about twice as long but the baby wasn't moving around at the beginning so Brian left that part out so that it wasn't so long for our viewers! We did get to see the heartbeat again and the umbilical cord pulsating at the beginning of the video. I just can't say enough about how amazing it was....the little arms and legs are my favorite - just to watch them move around was so wonderful :) Dr. Pohl said that everything still looked perfect!
